Have you ever heard the expression, "out of sight, out of mind". Those 6 words say say a great deal about establishing, building and MAINTAINING your accounts. If you are out of sight, either by phone, e-mail or in body, then you will be out of mind as well. This is why it's so important to maintain contact with your buyers and follow up with them as often as necessary.

You don't need to hound your accounts, but learn their buying speed and contact them accordingly. Some accounts will buy every week, some every other week, some each month and some every 3 months. Once you know this, use that to your advantage.

If a new item is added to our inventory, let your customers know. If a product special is going on, let your customers know.

Selling is an in-your-face type business, so it's paramount that you are in constant contact with your buyers, whether it be in person, by e-mail, by fax or by any other means.

If you can remember one thing... remember this. If you're not taking care of your customers... SOMEONE else WILL.
