UNDERSTANDING THE SALE OF MOVING BOXES, CUBED BOXES AND STOCK BOXES:

We sell every size moving box, cubed box and just about any imaginable size stock box, but this is an extremely competitive item to move.

Moving boxes are a set size in the moving industry for the type of box, for example, small, medium, large, x-large and so on.

Cubed boxes are just that, cubed boxes.  The boxes dimensions are the same all the way around.  It's a perfect square.  If you sell a 12 x 12 x 12, then you are selling a cubed box.  The Length x Width x Depth ( L x W x D ) is the same for all.  Cubed boxes range from a 4 x 4 x 4 to a 30 x 30 x 30.  The most popular sizes are the 8 cube (8cu) through the 18 cube (18cu).

Stock boxes are boxes of various sizes.  A 12 x 9 x 6 is considered a stock box.  Stock boxes come in hundreds of sizes and variations.

Pro's on Selling Moving Boxes:
  • Our boxes are not branded with names like Home Depot, Costco or Wal-Mart.
  • Can be profitable in volume if you land the right moving company, warehouse distributor or self-storage facility.
  • Can be profitable when making sizes specifically for a company (stock boxes).
  • Our moving boxes are larger than retail sold boxes, although they call them small, med, large, x-large and so on.
  • Our boxes are built stronger and they are heavier than retail competitors.
  • Can possibly get 75% to 100% markup if selling to the public or end user.
Con's on Selling Moving Boxes:
  • Requires a LOT of warehouse space to store.
  • Can be very heavy in bundled packs.
  • Requires a lot of vehicle space to transport.
  • Retailers like Home Depot, Costco, Sams Club and Wal-Mart sell these boxes very cheap.
  • Most boxes today are made from recycled paper, so most acrylic adhesive based tapes don't hold well.
  • LOW markups.  Lucky to get 25% when selling to a moving company, self-storage facility or retail outlet.
